Amasi Crispy Wings

Ingredients:
- 12 chicken pieces, cut into winglettes
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 2 cups First Choice Amasi
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1½ cups self-rising flour, to coat
- 2 l canola oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dry thyme
- 1 tsp oregano
Preparation method:
- Sprinkle the chicken with salt and pepper.
- Add the First Choice Amasi and the eggs in a shallow dish and mix.
- Place the chicken in a zip-lock plastic bag and add the Amasi mixture.
- Seal, and chill for at least 2 hours.
- Pour the oil to a depth of 10cm deep in a heavy bottom pan or pot heat to 180°C.
- While the oil is heating up mix the flour with all the spices, herbs and seasoning.
- Remove the chicken from the Amasi, discarding Amasi. Drench the chicken in the seasoned flour.
- Add the chicken in the oil, a few pieces at a time and cook for about 9 minutes or until the chicken is cooked all the way through, turning the chicken halfway of the cooking time.
- Drain on paper towels, and then you are ready to serve.
