A Velvety Custard Tart to warm your heart!
Place a medium to large sized pot on the hotplate, on medium heat.
Start off by placing the First Choice Butter and sugar together in the pot. Mix well.
Add the First Choice Custard while stirring continually.
Whisk the eggs and caramel essence in a separate bowl.
Add the egg mixture to the custard mixture, while stirring. Mix well and bring to the boil.
Grease a 1 litre dish, and place it in a "hot tub". This means that you will need to put your dish inside another larger dish and fill halfway with boiling water.
Pour the custard mixture into the dish.
Bake for 45 minutes at 180 Degree Celsius. Use a toothpick to test if the custard has set, by pricking the custard in the center of the dish. If the toothpick comes out clean, the custard is ready.
Remove the dish from the hot tub and allow it to stand for 15 - 20 minutes before serving.
