Pecan Pie

Ingredients
Fort the crust:
 200 g digestive biscuits, crushed
 100 g First Choice Butter, melted
For the filling:
 120 g golden syrup
 200 ml First Choice Custard
 10 ml vanilla essence
 100 g First Choice Butter, melted
 pinch salt
 3 eggs, beaten
 300 g pecan nuts, lightly chopped

Directions:

Combine the biscuits and the First Choice Butter and mix well. Press the mixture onto the base and sides of a well-greased 24 cm pie dish – press firmly with a spoon to make sure it sticks to the sides.

Refrigerate for 30 minutes before adding the filling.

Preheat the oven to 170°C.

Combine the golden syrup, First Choice Custard, vanilla, melted First Choice Butter and the salt. Mix well then add the eggs.

Lastly, add the pecan nuts and pour the mixture into the crust.

Bake for 15 minutes then turn the oven down to 150°C and bake for another 25 minutes until cooked and golden brown.

Cool and serve with whipped cream and First Choice Custard.
